Exponential Note Taking Guide print pages 3 through 6 (Day 1 and Day 2)

Big Ideas: You need to know how to determine if a functions is exponential growth or decay by examining the values of a and b from the parent function. And, you need to know how to graph exponential functions. You also need to be able to interchange between a percent and a decimal.

Practice with Systems of Equations Word Problems

Tuesday, February 19

Big Idea: This topic is going to be different from anything we've done so far, so it'll be very important for you to come to class with a thorough understanding of the screen cast. After you have viewed the screen cast enough times, if you still are struggling, be sure to write down questions to bring to class.

Prior Knowledge: Make sure you know the properties and how to interchange between exponential and logarithmic form really well.

Big Idea: Isolate the logarithm or the exponential just like you isolate variables when solving equations. Try to think of an easier example than the problem you are facing. Use the method that works best for you and that you are most comfortable with when solving.
